The Kouksundo warm-up exercises are not merely a form of stretching; it is a foundational process that concurrently regulates the musculoskeletal system (Joshin), energy (Joshim), and breathing (Joshik). It plays a critical role in establishing the meditative state required for advanced stages of Kouksundo practice. Practitioners should approach the warm-up exercises with the mindset that they are part of the broader discipline of Haeng-gong. Each movement must be performed with care and intention, taking into account the motion of the body, the circulation of Ki, and the rhythm of the breath.
